Connecting with Gandhiji on 2 October

This Gandhi Jayanti, we're offering a unique way of engaging with Gandhi – virtually, through our first-ever blog exclusively for children! Tulika will be launching this innovative and interactive blog, ‘Our Gandhi Scrapbook’; a virtual journey to discover Gandhi along with acclaimed children’s author, Sandhya Rao. Sandhya is Author of the Month through October on ZapZany, an online forum for children and parents, and the site through which the Gandhi blog is being launched on 2 October.

An avid ‘Gandhi collector’ herself, Sandhya’s infectious enthusiasm will give leads on the how-and-where to ferret out details about Gandhi – from stamps, coins and anecdotes, or anything that gives clues to the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of the man.

Sandhya will also be having her popular ‘Cat in the Hat’ session for children on 2 October. This is an audio-visual presentation of images from her three books on Gandhi- My Gandhi Scrapbook, Picture Gandhi and The Story of Dandi March - with engaging stories and encouraging words to bring children forward to participate. It has already sparked off animated responses in Delhi and Mumbai from children, parents and grandparents! Come and see what she has in store for Chennai at Full Circle, Chamiers, 85 Chamiers Road, R.A.Puram from 5:15 pm onwards. Tulika will be organising similar sessions with the author in various schools.

To mark the occasion, Sandhya’s three unusual books on Gandhi – a photobiography, a scrapbook, and a read-and-colour book – will be available as a set at a discounted price of Rs 275. The package will be available in all major bookstores and on the Tulika website.
